Heads Up, Elizabeth!
I thought I was having pups but it was a false alarm!
Dogwood Labradors is a small, family-owned breeder of Black, Chocolate and Yellow AKC English Labrador Retrievers, owned and operated by Thomas P. Carty and Howard Van Lenten. (See About English Labs for information about the appearance and temperament of this breed style.)
We breed just one or two litters a year, and raise the pups by hand and heart, following the program outlined in The Art of Raising a Puppy. (See How we Raise Raise Your Puppy for more information.)
We began breeding Labs in 2008, and found we enjoyed raising and placing pups in responsible, loving homes so much that we decided to continue.
Though small, we are not "backyard breeders." Instead, we give each puppy the time and attention necessary to develop the
healthiest, soundest and most representative Labrador Retrievers possible.
Our own household includes three adult Labs, so our pups learn to be very comfortable around other dogs. And we have four grandchildren and friends of all ages who
visit with and help socialize the pups.
Our goal is to make sure that the puppy you purchase will be an affectionate, healthy, happy companion for many years to come.

Our beautiful girl Elizabeth De-Lovely, who was bred in February, was supposed to be having pups right about now, but her pregnancy turned out to be a false one, as happens now and then in dogs as well as humans.
We are so sorry to disappoint the many previous buyers who had wanted to add another of our pups to their households, and to the many folks who put their names on the waiting list.
We will breed Lizzie again in August and hopefully this time it will take! That means she would have pups in October, ready for new homes in mid-December.
